Standard Learning Credits are available to all serving personnel from day one of service — giving everyone access to funded learning from the very start of their career.
SLC Scheme
Standard Learning Credits (SLCs) are available to all serving personnel regardless of how long they have served. They provide up to £175 per financial year to fund learning activities, with no minimum service requirement.
SLCs are ideal for funding IoSCM's bite-size short courses, giving you a flexible way to upskill in specific supply chain and logistics topics without committing to a full qualification.
Credits must be used within the same financial year and cannot be rolled over, so it is worth planning your learning early each year.
All serving personnel are eligible for SLCs from day one of service. There is no minimum service requirement.
Up to £175 per financial year. Unlike ELCs, there is no personal contribution required — the full cost of eligible learning up to £175 is covered.
SLCs can be used for any approved learning activity, including IoSCM's bite-size short courses. They cannot be used towards full qualifications — use ELCs for those.
Speak to your unit education officer or submit a claim through the Joint Personnel Administration (JPA) system. Contact IoSCM first and we will provide all the information you need.
Our short courses are designed to fit within the SLC annual allowance — a great way to build your knowledge and credentials every year of your service.
