ELC Scheme
The Enhanced Learning Credit (ELC) scheme provides financial support to eligible service personnel for higher-level learning. It is designed to encourage lifelong learning and support career development both during and after military service.
ELCs can be used to fund qualifications at Level 3 and above from approved providers. IoSCM is a registered ELC provider, meaning you can use your credits directly with us.
You can claim up to three instalments of your ELC allowance throughout your eligibility window — our team will help you plan which qualifications to pursue to make the most of your full entitlement.
Service personnel who have completed at least six years of service are eligible for ELCs. The scheme remains available for a period after leaving service.
The MOD contributes up to £2,000 per claim, with a personal contribution of at least 20% required. Up to three claims can be made during your eligibility window.
IoSCM qualifications at Level 3 and above are eligible for ELC funding. Our team will confirm eligibility for your chosen programme and help you through the claims process.

We will confirm that your chosen programme is ELC-eligible and provide you with our unique learning provider reference number.
Log in to the online ELC portal (or contact the ELC helpline) to submit your claim. You will need IoSCM's provider details and course cost.
Once your claim is approved, enrol with IoSCM and begin your studies. Payment is made directly by the MOD to IoSCM.
