This means that the government is committed to supporting the armed forces community by working with a range of partners who have signed the covenant.
The covenant is a national responsibility involving government, businesses, local authorities, charities and the public.
Its purpose is to ensure that it identifies the areas where service people, veterans and spouses are at commercial disadvantage, resolving issues through communication and engagement.
The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.
IoSCM have signed the AFC and have been awarded ERS Gold and are proud of the achievement and dedicated to the cause, by way of supporting the Reserve Force and Cadet Association and the Regional Employment Engagement Directors, through raising awareness in the commercial sector of the tangible benefits to an organisation of hiring a service person/veteran/ reservist or spouses.
Additionally we are engaged with Service Charities and associations as ambassadors for industry, raising awareness through delivering Globally Recognised Qualifications with post nominal recognition of experience and skillset, whilst giving service people peace of mind through their graded membership, that their professional and personal development is taken care of.
